Can’t wait to hit the road? Well hold on a second, if my memory serves me correct, first you need to pass the DMV test.
If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you already dug into studying. And also, it didn’t go as well because you’re looking for a better and easier way to nail the test.
Best DMV Test Apps
No shame in that, I’ve done the same back when I was studying for my driver’s license. Back then all I had were textbooks to help me learn, but in today’s world, there are a lot of more options.
One of them are apps and to my surprise, there’s a pretty decent choice of apps that focus on DMV test preparations.
You can take free DMV written test to really nail down the valuable knowledge and even review questions straight from your state’s handbook. It turns out it doesn’t even matter if you are taking a car or motorcycle test.
Long story short, I found a couple of nice apps on a site that sorts them by user reviews, ratings and downloads which I found to be really cool and helpful. It definitely saved me a couple of minutes.
Get in-depth feedback on your practice tests with DMV Hub
I found DMV Hub to be a great choice for learning the rules of the road. I believe it has over 500 DMV test questions including traffic signs questions. With a bit of will, you can quickly learn all the ins and outs of driving.
I also liked the fact you can take DMV practice tests that are tailored to your state without paying a cent. But the best part is if you answer wrong you’ll get feedback for every question so you’re not left wondering what to do next.
This goes pretty well with the fact you can choose between randomizing the questions, getting only questions you answered wrong or questions you didn’t try. Unfortunately, to get the third option you got to pay.
Finally, something I noticed at the end of my app testing is that you can also use the app without having an Internet connection. I guess that can come in handy if you need to do some last minute revisions and there’s no hotspot around.
I think this app is for people who want to really cement their knowledge as it gets straight to the point. But if you need more external motivation, don’t worry, the next one might be for you.
Have fun learning with DMV Permit Practice Test 2018 Edition
So, learning isn’t your cup of tea. Well, I might just have a cure for your illness. For me, the main perk of DMV Permit Practice by Coco is that it turns the learning experience into a game, where you beat levels by correctly answering practice questions! Remember how in Super Mario levels get progressively harder but also more fun? The same is here, except you’re not jumping on mushrooms but learning for your DMV test.
It builds up your knowledge by practicing with the most common DMV test questions for each state and even gives detailed explanations for every question and learn everything you need to know fast.
I believe it has a bit fewer questions than the first app, but it makes up for it with the great gaming design. Finally, it’s not completely necessary but just a little advice.
You might want to have a driver’s handbook beside you just so you can review if something doesn’t seem right. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t include references and although the questions I answered were correct, it doesn’t hurt to double check.
So, while I think the first one is for more active learners, this one is great for those of you who need a little push.
Realistic tests with DMV Genie Permit Practice Test
I got to say. I definitely like the name of this one: DMV Genie. The main perk of this app is that it uses the official driver’s handbook, or at least they promote the app that way.
Naturally, I had to test the app to see if what they say is correct. As it turns out, the questions did feel closer to the actual test.
Don’t get me wrong, the first two apps have a great set of questions as well, but this one did feel as if it took one small step further.
If you don’t want to take any chances with the DMV test and it’s burning under your feet, DMV Genie is a great choice. It has hundreds of questions that are based on the driver’s handbook for every state. You can even choose a difficulty level as your learning journey.
So the app has a little bit of the first two. If you’re completely new, you can start with easy questions and work your way up to take the exam level practice test.
What I probably like the most is that the questions you answer incorrectly are saved in a personalized Challenge Bank, so you can review them again later! You also get detailed explanations with references to the exact chapter in the handbook.
The only other thing I can say is that sometimes the app finds itself repeating questions too much. This can get a bit annoying if you want to learn something new but you’re getting bombarded with old stuff instead.
So which of the 3 is the best? Honestly, I think they are all good and it depends on what you’re looking for.
But as I said for the second app, do have a driver’s textbook by your side. If you combine I mean, taking a DMV test is no longer stressful when you have great lea the practice tests and the official manual, I think you’ll be able to nail the test in no time.
