Amazon to Launch a Hindi Website for Indian Mobile Users
Indian online markets are growing at a rapid pace. Companies are betting hard to unleash the potential many billion customers and rooting them to their platform.
Amazon Hindi Website for Mobile Users
The e-retailer Amazon is now testing a new mobile website in Hindi to target a huge chunk of Hindi speaking consumers in the country. The website will have interface features text in Hindi.
With this move in action, Amazon happens to be the first ever e-commerce company in India with a website interface in a language other than in English.
“We work backwards from our customer needs and continuously explore and experiment with new ways of making the shopping experience convenient and easy for customers in India. As part of that, we have started piloting the Amazon.in shopping experience in Hindi,” an Amazon spokesperson told the Economic Times.
With increased internet connectivity, Hindi speaking belt has started relying on e-commerce websites for their shopping needs. Amazon’s move is being seen as an attempt to reach out to the internet users in the rural parts of the country who speaks Hindi as a native language. Experts believe that with a Hindi website, Amazon India will take Hindi-only Flipkart head on.
