Recently WhatsApp added a functionality that notifies a user with a blue tick when his recipient reads his message. Though, the addition was being expected since so long, there were people who didn’t welcome the change. If you too among them who don’t want to give sender a receipt that you have read the message, app has a way out.
The latest version of WhatsApp for Android 2.11.44 allows you to disable the new receipts by a simple tweak in privacy section under settings. Just navigate to the privacy settings tab and uncheck the checkbox labeled ‘Read receipts’.
The updated version of WhatsApp is currently available on Android via WhatsApp’s official website. However, the update will appear soon on iOs and Windows phone users too.
