Facebook has launched an enhanced version of its popular trending feature for its app running on android smartphones. This could be seen an extension since the feature is already available for desktop users. The feature is currently available for the FB users in America and soon will available to other OS platforms and countries. The company had launched ‘Trending’ feature in January this year to enable people discover hot topics under public online discussion.
Facebook says in its official blog post that now the feature will enable users to explore material from different sources and different perspectives. Now, on tapping the trending topics, users will access an organized list of discussions from five different angles. These angles are:
Articles: original coverage from news organizations
In the Story: Viewpoint from actual participants
Friends and Groups: Discussion from your own social network
Near the Scene: posts from nearby observers
Live Feed: streaming rendition of the whole scene.
This is the second occasion when Facebook has revamped one of its features and expanded it to the mobile. Most recently Facebook did the same with its graph search feature.
Facebook, the leading social network perhaps knows how to entice its user base with something unique and amazing. The company understands that their users are the asset they need to preserve, that’s why the company time to time appears with add-ons, features and services for the Facebook users.
