Facebook Events Gets New Subscribe Button For Nearby Event Notification

To make its events section more happening, Facebook has introduced a ‘Subscribe’ button. It will notify users about upcoming nearby events hosted by subscribed brand/ musician/ page they like. The feature is out for both Facebook for desktop and Facebook mobile app. When a user subscribes, he gets notified whenever a page he likes hosts an event.

The subscribe button is placed beneath the name of the page on the Events section. Its placement is very much like the ‘Like’ button. The notification for an event appears is similar to the one a user gets from a friend. Facebook also delivers timely suggestions to users to subscribe to events from artists and Pages that they have liked.

Last week, the social network introduced a new feature ‘On This Day’ that takes you through the older memories that you may have missed from your mind. The feature is similar to Facebook’s ‘Look Back‘ and ‘Year in Review’ features.
