Facebook, the social networking giants has got nine new publishers for its newly launched feature ‘Instant Articles’. The feature will let publishers publish articles into Facebook’s mobile news feeds.
The articles published under ‘Instant Articles’ load 10 times faster than standard web articles on mobile. The major publishers included in the program are New York Times, BuzzFeed and National Geographic.
“Instant Articles lets them deliver fast, interactive articles while maintaining control of their content and business models,” said Facebook Chief Product Officer Chris Cox.
The new publishers who have joined the ‘Instant Article’ program can either sell and embed advertisements in the articles and keep all of the revenue, or allow Facebook to sell ads via the articles published. Facebook will also allow the news publishers to track data and traffic through various analytics tools.
The other noted news publishers who has partnered with Facebook for Instant Articles are NBC, The Atlantic, The Guardian, BBC News, Spiegel and Bild.
