Facebook Instant Articles Rolled Out For Android Users In India

Facebook, the social networking legend has finally rolled out its ‘instant articles’ feature in India for its Android Facebook app. The feature took six month to go live after its launch in the month of May this year. Currently, the leading Indian publishers like India Today, The Quint, Aaj Tak, Hindustan Times and The Indian Express are participating in the project.

Facebook is in discussion with other top notch publications to get them into the bucket. That means, you can access trending topics from more publishers by the beginning of 2016.

While making the announcement, Facebook’s director, news and global media partnerships Andy Mitchell said:

We at Facebook are really excited to be rolling out Instant Articles in India on Monday. We are working with a publisher ecosystem that is varied and we are excited to see how this product will resonate with Facebook users and publishers in India.”

Until now, the feature was available to the iOs users in the US and Western Europe. Andy says that a page loads in average 8 seconds on Facebook’s mobile app.
