It seems Facebook is all set to pull ideas from professional social network LinkedIn. As per technology magazine The Verge, Facebook is testing a ‘profile tags’ feature similar to LinkedIn. Using this feature, user can add tags to their own profile or you can let friends add tags for you. The tags however must be approved by you before going public on your profile page.
Facebook confirmed the news with The Verge and said:
“Profile tags are a creative tool that lets you and your friends add tags to your profile to highlight the things that describe you and what you’re into.”
These tags are available in a free form which means that there is no character limit and users can add in emojis as well. Report says that once feature goes live for all, your friends will be able to add tags to your profile that describes you the best such as great artist, talented dancer etc. The feature is currently being tested for the users in New Zealand.
