Facebook has started adding GIF and attachment buttons for users. The test is being done for a set of users and not available to everyone. A story published in The Next Web broke the news. The newly introduced icons appear to the chat window next to the existing send money, photo, and stickers buttons. Users can see icons below the text instead of to the right of it.
When user clicks on the GIF icon, it shows up a list of GIFs which appears to be selected randomly. It also opens up a search box which displays that users are searching for them on ‘GIFS & stickers across apps.’ The GIF feature has a catch here. For searching and sharing a GIF clip on mobile one would have to download a separate integrated app like Giphy.
