Google is testing a new PLA carousal that will help users perform more generic product search. The new carousal will refine item search grouped by retailers and would be helpful in case a searcher wants to make more generic search to bring in accurate shopping ads.
The carousal enables mini selections within the product listing ads that further narrows it down either by retailer and brands. With this feature in place, Google sets to ensure better targeting with their PLAs when a searcher performs a more generic product search. This helps in narrowing down product search and get accurate results a searcher is looking for.
This is how Google can showcase targeted shopping ads based on a user’s product searching pattern. AdWords could also take the advantage of the selections users make for more generic product searches in the future.
