Latest WhatsApp Update Will Get A Revamped Setting Interface
Facebook owned instant messenger WhatsApp is set to receive latest update for its Android users in times to come. The update will bring a completely revamped setting page with a new layout and differently sized icons. The latest WhatsApp update version 2.12.506 is yet to come to Google Play Store. Users may however upgrade it from by downloading and installing the apk file from the website.
The update will be changing the way options are aligned inside the Settings page. Henceforth, the profile settings option will now have the top position and carries the user’s profile picture. Earlier, it was at the second position.
The profile picture will now appear inside a round frame rather than a square one from before. After the update, the profile picture will carry a floating action button to change the image as well.
A new option ‘Data Usage’ will also be introduced in the update that lets users manually control the downloading of media items while in roaming, on Wi-Fi or on mobile data.
The new Settings page will rename ‘Chats and calls’ option as ‘Chats‘ and call settings have been moved under Data usage. With the latest update, the company has removed payment information from the Settings page as WhatsApp is a free platform now.
