As expected, MWC 2017 is witnessing some of the most anticipated mega launches of spec-heavy smartphones designed from ace phone makers. Giant smartphone brands are batting fiercely to overshadow their next contender with a better release. Lenovo too has its share in this mega mobile marathon. The legend smartphone maker has announced its specs loaded next generation smartphones- Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017.
Both the phones are similar in physical appearance, except their back. Moto G5 has a metal made removable back panel, whereas the Moto G5 Plus has a metal unibody with a 3000mAh non-removable battery. Like their predecessors Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, they are splash-proof.
Lenovo Moto G5 and Lenovo Moto G5 Plus Features
Let’s pick their specs one by one. The Moto G5 sports a 5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and comes with Corning Gorilla glass 3. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 clocked at 1.4GHz. With 2GB/ 3GB RAM and 16GB/ 32GB internal storage on board, the phone offers microSD card support that could be expanded further up to 128GB.
The Moto G5 Plus, however, boasts of a bigger display than G5. The phone features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla glass 3. Instead of Snapdragon 430 SoC, the phone has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2GHz.
The device will be available in different storage and RAM variants including 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. Both the phones will be equipped with fingerprint sensors below the display.
On the camera front, the Lenovo Moto G5 has a 13-megapixel f/2.0 snapper with phase detect autofocus (PDAF), while the Moto G5 Plus comes packed with a 12-megapixel f/1.7 camera having features like dual-tone LED flash, Dual-Pixel Autofocus and 4K video recording. This could be disappointing for some but the G5 camera can only record 1080p videos. For selfies, both Moto smartphones have been armed with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision OV5695 sensor and f/2.2 aperture.
Both the smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box operating system. The Lenovo Moto G5 houses a 2800mAh battery with Rapid Charging, while the G5 Plus is equipped with a 3000mAh battery with Turbo charging.
