India based Smartphone maker Micromax has appointed Ashish Agrawal as its new chief technology officer (CTO). This is the second big appointment after Shubhajit Sen’s induction in the company a fortnight ago as its chief marketing officer (CMO).

Ashish will lead different technology initiatives for the company and define the roadmap for growth of software services and technology initiatives there. On the occasion, Vineet Taneja, CEO Micromax said:
“With his rich experience in the relevant areas at a global scale, Agrawal will help us build technology platforms that will further strengthen our leadership. I am excited to have him on board with us.”
Before joining Micromax, Ashish worked at Sirqul as CTO. Here he was heading a team involved in managing product definition, execution and adoption of Sirqul’s suite of mobile engagement product and services. He had also worked at Amazon for 15 long years in capacity of software development, product development and technology leadership roles.
Ashish is quite excited about his new role at Micromax. When asked, he responded the following:
“Micromax is at the forefront of the Indian smartphone industry and I’m looking forward to leading its technology initiatives and ensuring that the company continues to exploit and invest in key technologies for the benefit of its customers.”
Ashish is a B.Tech degree holder from IIT Delhi and has a Master’s degree in Electronic engineering from Columbia University, New York.
