Last year back in October, Sony promised its users for bringing the Marshmallow updates for its phones specifically for the Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 compact. Sony is delivering for what it had promised back in 2015. The beta build for the Smartphone was released last month and now the users of the Smartphone are receiving an official update.
There is a firmware with a build number 23.5.A.0.570, this is the firmware carrying the update and it brings your Operating System to the latest version of 6.0.1. The updates also include the Android security patch that was released in February and also the latest interface between the camera and the applications.
The updates are not for all the models at the moment and not all users are getting these updates. As stated it is only for the 3 models of Sony Xperia and for other models there may be a delay in the updates. Also, the updates are not for all parts and all countries of the world. The updates are only released for Latin America, North Africa, Middle East, Russia, Ukraine and United States.
Hence, if you are still holding on your nerves for the updates that Sony promised to you and you are still in possession of your Xperia Smartphone then you may receive an update if you belong to these areas. Else, you may be required to show patience for some more times as Sony may be launching this updates for the other regions as well.
