Pinterest, the image based popular social network has launched a few new and innovative features on its platforms. The features introduced will help marketers in monetizing their Pinterest campaigns. Among the noteworthy features, Auto-play video ads and a new Explore content-discovery feature are the prominent on the social network announced the possible rollout back in August.
They then said that they were developing a fully integrated native video player. Now, they have launched Promoted Video, video ads containing featured Pins.
An official Pinterest blog post said that promoted videos have now gone auto-play. The blog further reads that the social network is testing the new video ad format with select brands in the U.S. and U.K. The major brands associated with the the testing are American Express, the Home Depot, Macy’s and Sony Pictures.
Another key feature ‘Explore’ will be made available for users within a week or so. The new section will include “trending ideas, quick-play videos, expert faves and more” from “top tastemakers, industry experts and even Pinterest employees.
Currently, users can only gain access to content from select publishers under the Explore feature. These publishers are Tastemade, HGTV, GQ, Refinery29, Harper’s Bazaar, National Geographic, BuzzFeed and Brit+Co.
