While launching the Hindi app, Gautam Shewakramani, India Country Manager at Quora said:
“The launch of Quora Hindi is an expansion of our mission to share knowledge. We will soon launch the platform in other Indian languages within a few months. We are preparing the launch of the platform in several languages and the next launch may be in more than one language”.
In 2009, Adam D’Angelo, a former CTO from Facebook floated Quora. The company is based at the Mountain View, California, and attracts over 200 million monthly unique visitors on its English web portal. The company monetized its English language version from May 2017.
In addition to English, the platform is available in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and starting May 2018 Indonesian too.
The company has no plans to monetize its Hindi version as of now. They want to focus on maintaining quality and credibility of information shared on the platform, said Gautam Shewakramani.
