Though, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 failed miserably and raised eyebrows globally, Samsung seems unfazed and ready to launch its next flagship device. According to the reports surfaced, the new device Samsung Galaxy S8 might feature an edge-to-edge OLED display, with a high screen-to-body ratio.
Engineers at Samsung said that Samsung’s Display would roll out a full-screen display. Its display area ratio may reach more than 90 percent next year. Display area ratio is a scale that measures space taken up by a display on the front part of a handset.
An Engineer from Samsung also shared a concept image of a full screen Galaxy S7 Edge. The image clearly shows absence of home button on the bottom. The phone will have all type of sensors inbuilt under the display.
Samsung Galaxy S8 isn’t the only device with a high screen-to-body ratio. Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has recently unveiled the Mi Mix smartphone with a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio.
We have already been to the rumors that suggested Samsung Galaxy S8 with a 5.5-inch 4K display, that’s designed for VR. The device is expected to have either a Snapdragon 830 or a Exynos 8895 SoC with 6GB of RAM.
