Announced a month back during Mobile World Congress, Sony has finally launched its most awaited flagship device Sony Xperia XZs. The phone is now available for consumers in India at hefty price tag of Rs 49,990. Interested buyers can pre-book the device at exclusive Sony centers, select retail outlets and on e-retailer Flipkart from April 4 to April 10.
Buyers who pre-book the phone during the period, will be entitled to get a wireless Bluetooth speaker, SRS-XB10 which costs Rs 4,990 for free. The phone will be available for purchase from April 11.The Xperia XZs flaunts a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera system on the rear with predictive phase detection and laser autofocus, but without Optical Image Stabilization.

Phone’s Motion Eye camera system is reportedly able to make slow motion videos at 960-frames-per-second. The rate is 4X times slower than any other smartphone that we use to create such videos. The company makes this possible by adding a 128MB DRAM layer of memory onto the camera sensor. In addition to that, the 960 fps slow-motion mode is activated via a dedicated toggle inside the camera app. The device can capture record 4K videos as well.
Furthermore, the Xperia XZs, an all-metal smartphone is said to be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance. For charging and data syncing, the phone comes packed with a USB Type-C. Using compatible headphones, users can enjoy high-res audio.
The Xperia XZs features a 5.2 Full-HD 1080p display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Phone’s internal memory can be expanded further using a microSD card. For selfie geeks, the device flaunts a 13-megapixel front-facing camera as well.
The Xperia XZs is a dual SIM smart phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based Xperia UI and supports 4G LTE (VoLTE-ready). The phone also supports adaptive charging to prevent battery decline. Other notable features we can list are a 2,900mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Device is shipped with a Quick Charger UCH-12 in the box which is claimed to charge the phone by up to 60 per cent in 45 minutes. The phone will be available in three color variants- Ice Blue, Black and Warm Silver.
