Twitter Applying To Trademark Subtweet, Purpose Better Known To The Company

Twitter, the microblogging giant is all set to file papers to authorities to trademark the term ‘Subtweet’. Subtweet is a feature of Twitter when a user mentions some other use without tagging him using the @ handle.

Currently, the company has filed the papers on 20th and 30th   for two countries- the UK and US. The purpose why Twitter intends to file trademark application is still unknown.

Since it’s necessary to have a trademark to the term for its commercial use, it’s possible that company is thinking of trademarking the word for a new feature. We will find the reason very soon.
