WhatsApp users from the UK and Western Europe reported outage while using the popular messaging service on the New Years Eve. An internet and mobile services provider DownDetector broke the news of possible outage. Even Facebook admits the Goof up. The company said to Reuters that some users were still had issues while using the service.
By saying this, the company retracted from its earlier version completely that it had completely restored the service. WhatsApp didn’t offer any clarifications why that outage occurred and when it was started.
Users said that the interruption began shortly after 4.30 p.m. UK time on New Year’s Eve. It’s worth noting that WhatsApp, owned by Facebook has about 900 million global users. The news appeared only when people started complaining on social networks. Later, it was confirmed by DownDetector.
